As you all may have noticed, Fileserve no longer allows sharing files, thus is no longer an option for the continuous functionality of the site/blog.

Therefore, if any of you can suggest an option ranging the 10 dollar/Euro monthly for the upload and transfer of the files, I'd be delighted to try and keep the MarkKnopflerMusic Project alive.

After a few months of inactivity on my behalf due to workload, i am able to work again in the blog.

I changed the design as a reminder that www.markknopflermusic.com will/must not die. I will change from Rapidshare to fileserve, since Rapidshare is pretty useleess now. Hopefully here won't delete files as much, so iI will be reposting the most downloaded ones while posting new Mark Knopfler's Boots.

Thank you all for your messages and emails, I've read and apreciate every one of them.

For the time being I will rarely upload FLAC or lossless/uncompressed files, sorry, but my Upload Speed is not that fast to do FLACS.



For those of you asking about the simfy live Get Lucky 2010 Tour recordings:

Yes, i bought them all spending a lot of money, and no, I will not be posting these, since you can still get them for €14.95 here.

At the beginning of Walk of life, it is Mark Knopfler himself who is revealing the mystery: "This is where San Antonio is doing the walk, alright." And, at the end of Brothers in arms Mark says: "Thank you San Antonio, thank you!". Amazing! Great sound, complete show!"

PERFECT soundboard! You won't believe your ears when you listen to this jewel! This recording has got the same high sound quality like for example the official live CD "On the night" with the exception that this is an almost complete concert (unfortunately Money for nothing is missing). It's a secret soundboard recording from Oslo 1992. For a very long time, the exact recording date of this show was a real mystery. In contrast with "On the night", this is absolutely unedited: no mixing, no overdubbing and with all the little mistakes. Great to have, a must for all true fans!

New direction in my life...

I've tried to avoid using this blog for my personal life. But i'll make an exception to tell you that in the past few months my life has taken a new direction in many ways, work is one of them.

After 16 years of working for the publishing industry, I am now trying to enter the Smartphone customization scene.

My first product is a Theme for APEX Launcher called Blackgrid.

Wembley Stadium on 11th June 1988 was the venue for a unique gathering of musicians and performers from all over the world who under the banner of Artists Against Apartheid paid tribute to Nelson Mandela for his 70th Birthday. An audience estimated to be well over half a billion people in some 63 countries participated in an event with a simple compelling message: "Free Nelson Mandela". Dire Straits appeared as the closing act of that unforgettable day with Eric Clapton on second guitar. Until today, it was probably the most important and powerful concert of the Dire Straits history. Amazing version of Brothers in arms! More complete than the bootleg "Solid Rock", Excellent sound quality.

Great soundboard recording of the Hamburg 2001 concert! On the first radio broadcast, there was some traffic announcement during the intro of What it Is. Luckily, it was re-broadcasted again later without any interruptions. This perfect version can be found on this bootleg. The only song that was not broadcasted is Done with Bonaparte. To make the concert as complete as possible, the audience recording of Done with Bonaparte is put on this CD. Highly recommened!
